I've never used Tumbler so I don't really know how tag the tags work there, but I think people use less chatty tags here. They do get reordered as I also there's a limit on how many total tags you can have.

Welcome to dreamwidth! (And pretty layout!) One thing I like about tags here (and one of the reasons I never moved to tumblr, way back when) is that they all automatically get collected on the /tag/ page without you having to manually maintain a list of them. But the alphabetical organization does kind of break conversational-style tagging.

Thank you! Yes, my tags ended up turning into gibberish there. Lesson learned. But the automatic collection seems great for using tags like, well, actual tags.
